Manuel A. Correia

FALL RIVER… Manuel A. Correia, 82, of Fall River passed away July 23, 2022, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was the widower of the late Liliana M. (Cabral) Correia.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Joao Correia and Ilda Maria (Furtado) Correia.

Prior to retiring, Manuel was employed as a textile worker in several local mills. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his son and visiting his daughter’s house to spend time with her. In his free time, he liked playing cards and dominoes, going to the Clipper Restaurant, taking care of his vineyard, making wine, fishing, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Pebbles and Lexi, and his pet birds. He was an avid Benfica fan and loved playing soccer.

Survivors include his daughter Clara M. Cordeiro (husband Jaime M. Cordeiro), of Dartmouth; his son Robert Correia (wife Lisa M. Correia), of Fall River; his sisters: Ilda Melo, and Maria Jose Ricardo, both of Fall River; his brothers: Joao Correia, of Fall River, and Hermenegildo Correia, of Canada; his grandchildren: Daniel Cordeiro, Sherie L. Alves, Justin Cordeiro, Matthew Cordeiro, Iesha L. Correia, Kyron Correia, and Robert Correia, Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur Correia, Leopoldina Cordeiro, Fernando Correia, and Aida Botelho.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, July 27, at 9:00 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Tuesday night, from 5 – 8 PM.
