Manuel da Ponte Carreiro

FALL RIVER… Manuel da Ponte Carreiro, 73, of Fall River, passed away February 2, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, in Fall River.

He was the husband of Maria (Medeiros) Carreiro.

Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Carreiro Leite and Maria de Lourdes da Ponte.

Manuel worked for 26 years as a carpenter at Horner Millwork, in Somerset, before his retirement. He was a parishioner of Santo Christo Parish and an avid Benfica fan. In his free time, Manuel enjoyed watching soccer and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife, survivors include his children: Robert Carreiro, Nelson Carreiro (fiancé Tracy Vallett), Marco Carreiro (wife Heather), and Darlene Carreiro; his brothers: Antonio Carreiro and Joseph Carreiro; his grandchildren: Sierra, Robert Jr., Nathan, Logan, Aiden, Melody, Kiera, Lilly, and Jaden; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are private.
