Manuel Abreu

FALL RIVER… Manuel Abreu, 82 of Fall River passed away September 8, 2020 at Golden Crest Nursing Home in Providence.

He was the loving husband of Maria Isabel (Ramos) Abreu.

Born in Portugal, he was a son of the late Fernando and Nazare Abreu and had most recently lived in Fall River but had lived many years in New Bedford.

Mr. Abreu had worked for American Dryer for many years prior to his retirement. He was very active in the Seventh-day Adventists Church in New Bedford and enjoyed gardening.

Along with his wife, survivors include his daughters: Helen DaSilva and her husband Rui of North Carolina and Teresa Medeiros and her husband Steven of Westport; his grandchildren: Sydney and Mathew; his siblings: Julio Abreu of Portugal, Olivia DaCunha of New Bedford, Deolinda Pires of North Port, Fl and Ilda Pinto of Portugal; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio Abreu.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11 AM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721 followed by Interment in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford. Calling hours will be held Monday, from 9 – 11 AM, prior to the funeral.
