Manuel J. Abrantes

FALL RIVER … Manuel J. Abrantes, 53, of Fall River passed away May 22, 2016 after a brief illness.
He was born in Fall River a son of Edward Abrantes of St. Petersburg, FL and the late Gloria (Alves) Abrantes and stepson of the late Christine Abrantes and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
He was the owner operator of Landscapes by Abrantes.
Mr. Abrantes enjoyed fishing, crabbing, quahogging, trips to Foxwoods, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He will miss his dog Akira and cat Melanie.
Survivors include his father, 2 sons: Staff Sergeant Robert M. Abrantes, U.S.M.C, and his wife Jessica of Jacksonville, NC, Manuel J. Abrantes, II of Fall River, 3 daughters: Kristen L. Abrantes, Mandy J. Abrantes, Courtney M. Abrantes all of Fall River, 3 brothers: Edward Abrantes and his wife Robin of Little Compton, RI, Joseph Abrantes and his wife Cindy of FL, David Abrantes and his wife Robin of Fairhaven, 5 sisters: Nancy Abrantes of New Bedford, Debora Casmira and her husband Steve of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dorothy Cambra of Fall River, Pauline Abrantes Schuyler of Largo,, FL, Jennifer Devoe of Clearwater, FL, 1 granddaughter Gloriana Abrantes, many nieces and nephews, his girlfriend Debbie Rego. He was the father of the late Gloria M. Abrantes and the brother of the late Michael Abrantes.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday from 8 - 10 AM at the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 SOUTH MAIN STREET, FALL RIVER. Inurnment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
