Louis Borges

FALL RIVER – Louis Borges, 91, of 495 New Boston Rd., Fall River, died Monday, March 12, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Virginia (Martin) Borges.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Manuel and Emily (Bento) Borges; he was a lifelong resident of Fall River and a member of Santo Christo Church. Mr. Borges was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WW II. He loved the ocean, enjoyed fishing and quahogging.
Mr. Borges worked as a machine operator for many years at Rivers Edge Textile.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Berube of Berkley, MA and Jodi L. Miranda of Bristol, RI; and a granddaughter, Kamryn J. Berube of Berkley, MA. He was the father of the late Stephen M. Borges and the brother of the late Thomas Borges.
His funeral will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road, Fall River. Calling hours Friday 7-9 p.m.
