FALL RIVER…Loretta (Ferreira) DeCosta, 93, of Fall River passed away at home, Tuesday, May14, 2019.
She was the widow of Manuel DeCosta.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Francisco and Rose P. (Araujo) Ferreira and had lived in the Fall River/Somerset area.
She was employed as a machine operator for 30 years at Ideal Bias Binder.
Mrs. DeCosta was a member of U.N.I.T.E and loved reading, the Red Sox, the Patriots, and being with her family.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Judith G. Martin, Margaret S. “Peggy” Mendonca, 2 sons: Kenneth R. DeCosta, and Richard D. DeCosta all of Fall River, 24 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Stephen F. DeCosta, Stanley P. DeCosta, Donald G. DeCosta. She was sister of the late Rose Marie Elias, Doris Thomas, Jules Ferreira, and Francis Ferreira.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday at 9 AM at the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 – 8 P.M.
