FALL RIVER - Leonora (Santos) Azeredo, 97, of Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, a retired garment worker, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Manuel O. Azeredo.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Maria (Bernard) Santos; she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Mrs. Azeredo worked as a seamstress for many years in the local garment industry. She was a member of the former I.L.G.W.U., now UNITE. She volunteered at the Catholic Memorial Home for 17 years in its activity department.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Nery) Partington and her husband Robert "Butch" of Dunedin, FL; a son, David Azeredo of FL; six grandchildren, Christopher Partington, Pamela Donner, Mary Borges, Patricia Partington, Christine Azeredo and David Azeredo; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a niece. She was the step-mother of the late Philip Azeredo, the sister of the late George Santos and the mother-in-law of the late Carol Azeredo.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Chapel of the Catholic Memorial Home, Highland Avenue. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Prospect Street. Calling hours Tuesday 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Memorial Home, Attn: Activities Department, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA 02720.
