Leonard Rocha, 83, of Tiverton, RI, died Tuesday at St. Anne's Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Phoebe (Rua) Rocha and Cora (Poisson) Rocha.
Born in New Bedford, MA, he was a son of the late Manuel and Mary C. (Martin) Rocha; he resided in Tiverton for the past 47 years.
Mr. Rocha worked for Commonwealth Gas Company for 32 years, retiring as a road foreman.
He was a member of Holy Ghost Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Luanne Edwards (Husband Grady) of Fairhaven, MA and Raeanne Deus (Husband Manuel) of Acushnet, MA; two sons, Michael Rocha (Wife Wendy) of Mattapoisett, MA and Kevin Rocha (Wife Cheryl) of South Dartmouth, MA; seven grandchildren, Corie and Jacob Deus, Aaron and Nathan Rocha, Courtney and Marissa Rocha and Grant Edwards. He was the companion of Lorraine Raposa of Tiverton.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
