Laura Cardoza

Laura (Freitas) Cardoza, 94, of Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center, 4901 North Main St., passed away on May 27th at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Loren Cardoza, Sr.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Pontes Freitas and Augusta (Pontes) Freitas; she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Mrs. Cardoza worked as a assembler at Raytheon in Dighton and for the former Bristol Knitting Mills.

She is survived by a daughter, Maureen Lockwood and her dear son-in-law Brian Lockwood of Fall River; a son, Loren Cardoza, Jr. of Desert Hot Springs, CA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Rose Barboza of Portsmouth, RI; several nieces and nephews; and her Sarah Brayton family. She was the sister of the late John J. Price, Mary Correia, Joseph Freitas, Connie Lewis, Linda Bernardino, Judith Stakland and Manuel "Brooksie" Freitas.
