Larry E. Garside

FALL RIVER…Larry E. Garside, 78, of Fall River passed away January 27, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Madaline (Moniz) Garside of Fall River.
Born in Albany GA, he was a son of the late George L. and Anne (Miller) Garside. He lived in Boston for many years before moving to Fall River in 2001.
Mr. Garside was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a Laborer for several local construction companies for 15 years after working as a commercial fisherman for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and his favorite dog Kobe.
Along with his wife and former wife Rita (Butts) Garside of Dorchester, survivors include 5 daughters; Maryanne Garside of Dorchester, Robin Garside of Cohasset, Kimberly Garside of Dorchester, Michelle Garside of Lynn, and Rachel Garside of Dorchester, 3 sons; Lawrence Garside of Weymouth, Christopher Garside of Dorchester, and Brian Garside of Quincy, 3 step-children; Deborah William, Michael Bergeron and Cynthia Bowdren, all of Tiverton, 2 sisters; Shirley Zarza of MI and Lois Ives of TN, 15 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Elaine Meyers, Patricia Elizar and George L. Garside.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 S. Main St. Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Parish, South Main St. Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 - 7PM.
