Kevin C. Sylvia

Kevin C. "Skunk" Sylvia, 50, of Somerset, MA, died Monday unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Monique (Heroux) Sylvia.

Born in Fall River, MA, a son of Irene (West) Almeida of Westport, MA and the late William Sylvia; step-son of William Almeida; he lived in Somerset for the past 15 years and was a graduate of Tiverton High School, class of 1979. He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider.

Kevin worked for many years as a union carpenter for Local 94 in Rhode Island.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Amanda Sylvia of Somerset, MA; a son, Kevin C. Sylvia, Jr., of Tiverton, RI; a sister, Christine A. Sylvia of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Stephen B. Sylvia of Phoenix, AZ; a nephew, Seth Avila; aunts and uncles; and cousins.

His Memorial Service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Cremation to follow. Family will receive relatives and friends for expressions of sympathy from 6 - 7 p.m.
