Kathleen (Mello) Fernandes

FALL RIVER… Kathleen (Mello) Fernandes, 61, of Fall River, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, in Brighton.

She was the widow of the late Antonio Fernandes and the long-time companion of the late Jose F. Sousa.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Madeline Mello.

Kathleen was a loving and caring mother, a hard worker, and a faithful catholic and parishioner of Santo Christo Church.

She is survived by her children: Crystal Ann Fernandes (David Camara), Jessica Fernandes (Brien Massie), Peter Fernandes (Ashley Durette), and Eric Sousa, all of Fall River; her stepdaughter: Sandy Sousa; her brother: Robert Mello (Jen Mello), of Fall River; her grandchildren: Madison, Marquell, and Axel; her great grandchild: Naiyah, and her niece and nephew: Torie and Justin.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 14th, from 8-10:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Interment with follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
