Julieta M. (Dias) Rodrigues

FALL RIVER… Julieta "Julie" M. (Dias) Rodrigues, age 77, of Fall River, MA passed away on October 31, 2017 following a brief illness. She was married to the late Robert Rodrigues for thirty-nine years. Julie was born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores where she lived for 10 years before moving to Fall River. She was employed at Bristol Knitting Mills, Simply Sportswear and TJ Maxx until her retirement when she became an election pollster for the City of Fall River.
She traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe, enjoyed gardening and exercising with her many friends at the Niagra Senior Center. Julie was a member of the red hat society, the local Widows Group and was a volunteer at the North End Senior Center. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Parish for many years.
Along with her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Maria (Aguiar) Dias and John Silva Dias, her brothers, Joao, Manuel and John Peter Dias, her sisters, Juliet Dias and Mary (Dias) Zimbro. She is survived by her children, Karyn (Rodrigues) Soeters and her husband Emery of Cheshire, CT, and Gregory Rodrigues and his wife Brenda (Pavao) of Wrentham, MA, her grandchildren, Kimberley, Emery, Jr., Kristopher and Jennifer Soeters, David Lanata, Rene and Alyssa Rodrigues, her great grandsons, Ayden, Lucas and Chase, her lifelong friend Lillian Correia, her sister-in-law and friend, Elsie Dias, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Julie will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for her fun loving spirit, her love for adventure and loyalty to her family and friends.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday from 5 - 8 PM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 S. Main St. Fall River, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Parish, 1598 S. Main St. Fall River, MA. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Donations in Julie's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
