Judith Ann (Pacheco) Tavares, 84, of Dennis, formerly of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, February 12th, 2025, at Cape Cod Hospital.

She was the widow of the late Joseph Jacinto Tavares.

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Francisco Pacheco and Mary (Thomas) Pacheco.

Judith dedicated much of her life to her work as a sewing machine operator in the local garment industry before retiring. A devoted parishioner of Santo Christo Parish, she was deeply committed to her faith and community. She instilled a strong sense of care and craftsmanship in her children, teaching them how to mend clothing and ensuring they never left the house without everything in perfect order. Judith also taught her children to be kind but strong, always remembering to protect and care for each other. She had a love for reading, especially magazines and poetry books, and would often indulge in trying out new recipes from cookbooks, sharing her delicious creations with the neighborhood kids. Judith had a keen interest in fashion shows and enjoyed the beauty of watching birds. She also loved the beach and the ocean, where she found peace and joy. Above all, Judith cherished the time spent with her family, making sure each moment was filled with love, warmth, and joy.

Judith is survived by her daughters Anne Marie Barach and Audrey Marie Tavares-Hierholcer (husband Steven); her siblings James Pacheco and Suzanne Crose (husband David); her sister-in-law Rachel Pacheco; her grandchildren Ethan Barach (fiancé Taylor), Maclean Barach (wife Kirstyn), Cameron Barach, Declan Barach, Aliza Barach, and Ryan Hierholcer; her great grandson Brooks Paul Barach; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Frank Pacheco and Philip Andrew Pacheco.
