Joseph Souza

Joseph Souza, 88, of Tiverton, RI, formerly of Fordham Dr., Somerset, passed away Monday, Oct. 22nd, 2012 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Eileen (Oliver) Souza, to whom she shared 34 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late John and Augustine (Silvia) Souza, he resided in Tiverton for the past 12 years in Tiverton, previously living in Somerset. He was a member of St. Theresa Church.

Mr. Souza worked as a plant manager for Samesta Manufacturing for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed car restoration.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Linda M. Frias of New Bedford, MA; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Sheila Mcelroy and brother of the late Rose Cabral.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa Church. Interment of cremains in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Calling hours are omitted. Arrangements are by the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St.
