Joseph S. Peixoto

Joseph S. Peixoto, 75, of Kimwell Nursing Home, 495 New Boston Road, formerly of Division Street, passed away Tuesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Helena (Aguiar) Peixoto.

Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores; a son of the late Alfredo and Delia (Hermengildo) Peixoto; he lived most of his life in this city and was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church.

Mr. Peixoto was the owner and operator of the former Joe's Livery for many years, later the co-owner and co-operator of Fall River Limousine. He retired from the Oliveira Funeral Home Inc., after many years of employment as a funeral assistant

He is survived by 4 daughters, Nancy A. Pimentel, Sandra M. Barreira, Joanne Sousa and Debra S. Pavao, all of Fall River; a son, Joseph S. Peixoto, Jr., of Fall River; two sisters, Mary Alves of Somerset and Sarah Peixoto of Swansea; a brother, Manuel Peixoto of Fall River; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Espirito Santo Church. Committal prayers and interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4 - 8 p.m.
