Jose Narciso

Jose Narciso, 90, of Fall River, formerly of Somerville, MA, passed away peacefully at the Catholic Memorial Home on Sunday, January 14th.

Loving husband of the late Maria Odilia (Santos) Narciso.

Born in Feterias, in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose Narciso and late Maria da Conceicao (Cabral) Narciso, and brother of the late Manuel Narciso.

Prior to retiring, Jose, spent many years as a baker at Dunkin Donuts before making a career transition to the hotel industry and finishing his career working in the housekeeping department at the Howard Johnson Motel near Fenway Park in Boston.

In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, playing cards, word searches, and praying, but what brought him the most joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jose is survived by his children, Jose Manuel and his wife Ana Maria of Somerville, MA and daughter, Idalina Moniz and her husband, Joao of Fall River, MA, his grandchildren, Patricia Castanheira and her husband Mario of Fall River, MA, Carlos Moniz of Fall River, MA, Ana O’Hearn and her husband Mark of Stoneham, MA, Maggie Sullivan and her husband Neal of New York, NY, Rita Hatzis and her husband Costas Hatzis of Lynnfield, MA, and his great-grandchildren, Jayden Castanheira, Jacob and Layla Moniz, Arden and Emmy O’Hearn, Valentina and Theodore Hatzis along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 19, from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA.
