Jose C. Ferreira

Jose C. Ferreira, 80, of 271 Mulberry St., Fall River, died Tuesday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Maria da Conceicao (Cabral) Ferreira.

Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Carvalho and Mariana Jesus (de Mello) Carvalho; he lived in Fall River for the past 52 years and was a member of Santo Christo Church.

Mr. Ferreira was employed as a labor foreman for 25 years at Cardi Construction in Warwick, retiring in 1962.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jose Ferreira, Jr. of Fall River; five grandchildren, Jake, Brian, Jacky, Jill and Jessica; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Christiano "Chris" Ferreira and the brother of the late Georgina Araujo, Maria C. Moniz, Mariana Benevides, Louis Ferreira and Manuel Carvalho.

His funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 6 - 9 p.m.
