Jose G. Costa

Jose G. Costa, 77, of Fall River, died Friday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Armanda (Vieira) Costa.

Born in Lomba da Cruz, Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Oliveira) Costa; he lived in Fall River for most of his life. He was a member of Santo Christo Church and its former Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 86. He enjoyed gardening and projects.

Mr. Costa worked as a dye man for 21 years at the former Swan Finishing.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Natalie Costa Liupakka of Salem, NH; three sons, Gregory M. Costa of Quincy, MA, Robert Costa of New Bedford and Paul Costa of Fall River; three sisters, Maria C. Pereira of Midway Park, NC, Olga Hubble of Howell, NJ and Dolores DoCeu of Fall River; a brother, Manuel R. Costa of Fall River; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4 - 8 p.m.
