Jorge Vieira

Jorge M. Vieira, 64, of Fall River, passed away February 8th, 2024, at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center.

    Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel Vieira and Maria Jose (Teixeira) Vieira.

    Prior to retiring, Jorge worked for most of his career in the local textile industry, for several years at Brittany Dyeing & Printing Co, in New Bedford, and prior, for many years, at Duro Textile. He was a devoted parishioner of Santo Christo Church and often participated in the Santo Christo Feast Procession. He also enjoyed working with computers, especially using his computer that he built himself.

    Jorge is survived by his sister Donna Almeida, one niece, one nephew, and one grandnephew.

    A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 14, from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Santo Christo Church. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
