John Verissimo

FALL RIVER - John Verissimo, 50, of Fall River, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at home unexpectedly. He was the husband of the late Valerie (Sousa) Verissimo.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of Laurenio "Larry" Verissimo of Fall River and the late Maria F. (Sousa) Verissimo; he lived in Fall River all of his life. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan.
Mr. Verissimo was employed for many years as a machine operator at Elite Envelope & Graphics, Inc. in Randolph.
Besides his father, he is survived by a daughter, Taisha M. Verissimo of Fall River; a son, Cameron J. Verissimo of Fall River; a sister, Maria C. Cabral of Fall River; two brothers, Aguinaldo "Shorty" Verissimo of Fall River and Arlindo "Rocky" Verissimo of Tiverton, RI; a granddaughter, Gabriella V. Baylies; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Armando "Peanut" Verissimo.
His funeral will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Stafford Rd., Tiverton. Cremation to follow. Calling hours Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Columbia St. location.
