John N. Medeiros

John N. Medeiros, 97, of Robert Gray Ave., Tiverton, died Sunday at Southpointe Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center. He was the husband of the late Laura (Ferreira) Medeiros.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Nunes) Medeiros; he resided in Tiverton for the past 45 years. Mr. Medeiros worked for the United Parcel Service as a driver for 20 years and was awarded the Safety Driving Award every year, retiring in 1977. He was a lifelong member of the Teamsters Union. He previously worked as a bus driver for several years in Fall River.

He is survived by two daughters, Ruth Medeiros of Tiverton, RI and Bunny Medeiros of Damascus, VA; a granddaughter, Erin Caldwell-Rutherford; two nieces, Eileen Costa and Joyce Oster; three nephews, Charles Freitas, Steve Freitas and Frank Ventura; a sister-in-law, Rose Medeiros and her son Joseph Medeiros, Jr. He was the brother of the late Joseph Medeiros, Jesse Medeiros, Mike Medeiros, Angie Hadfield and Mamie Costa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the OLIVIERA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4 - 7 p.m.
