Joe E. Velho

Joe Velho, 55, passed away on Tuesday, June 28th at home following an extended illness. He was the husband of Celeste M. Velho.

Born in Fajazinha, Flores, Azores, he emigrated to Ft. Bragg, California in 1960 & then moved to Fall River in 1986. He was an engineer at the former Brayton Point Power Plant in Somerset. He was a former pilot, enjoyed his HAM radio, and had a passion for cameras & computers.

He was the son of the late Joe A. Velho & Ana Machado Velho. He was also the godchild of the late Zulmira Furtado. Joe leaves behind a brother, Anthony Velho & step-mother, Anita Velho. He also leaves behind Uncle Alvaro & Aunt Rosalie Velho. Also left behind are 12 godchildren, many nieces and nephews & a loving in-law family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 p.m.
