Joaquim Bartolomeu, 73, of Tiverton, formerly of Columbia St., Fall River, died Thursday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the companion of Evelyn (Souza) Gouveia of Tiverton and the husband of the late Hilda (Souza) Bartolomeu.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he was a son of the late Mr.& Mrs. Antonio Bartolomeu, he lived in Tiverton for the past 4 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and dancing.
Mr. Bartolomeu was co-owner of the former Sete Cidades Restaurant. He previously worked as a laborer in the construction industry.
He was a member of Santo Christo Church.
Besides his companion, he leaves two nieces and three nephews.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation morning of funeral 9 - 10 a.m.
