Joao V. Maranhao

Joao V. Maranhao, 90, of Crawford Nursing Home, 273 Oak Grove Ave., Fall River, died Wednesday at the home. He was the husband of the late Maria da Conceicao Vieira.

Born in Sao Pedro, Terceira, Azores, a son of the late Joao V. and Maria da Gloria Vieira; he emigrated to this country in 1982. He was a member of Santo Christo Church. He was a member of the Santo Christo Club and Academica Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Maria Conceicao Pimental of Terceira, Azores and Fernanda Lima of Fall River; three sons, Joao Maranhao of Terceira, Azores, Jose Maranhao and Antonio Maranhao, both of Fall River; a sister, Eria da Conceicao Vieira of Canada; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 7 - 9 p.m.
