Joao Da Costa

Joao A. Da Costa, 75, of Grant St., Fall River, died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Maria L. (Sousa) Da Costa.

Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel and Amelia Da Costa; he lived in this city for the past 40 years and was a member of Santo Christo Church. He was an avid soccer fan.

Mr. Da Costa worked as a filling dorfer for 15 years at Joan Fabrics. He previously worked in the steel industry.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John Da Costa and his wife Dawn (Dupras) of Fall River; and a grandson, Kameron Da Costa.

His funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 7 - 9 p.m.
