Joao Andrade

SOMERSET…Joao Andrade, 76, of Somerset, MA, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the loving husband of Lucilia (Pereira) Andrade, to whom he was married for 50 years.

Born in Sao Roque, Sao Miguel, Acores, he was a son of the late Joao Andrade and Deodata Espirito Santo.

Joao retired in 2012 after 26 years of service from Duro Finishing as a machine operator. He also worked as a machine operator at Frito Lay for many years. He was an avid FC Porto fan and enjoyed trips to the casino and making wine. Above everything else, he loved spending time with his family. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and everyone whose life he touched.

Along with his wife, survivors include his children: Lucilia “Lucy” Davies (husband: Joshua), Brenda Charest (husband: Kris) and Christopher Andrade (wife: Lenia), all of Somerset; he was the proud vavo of: Joshua, Sean, Ashley, and Haley; his brother: Jose Manuel Andrade (wife: Eduarda) of Fall River and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Maria Clementina Resendes and (husband: Antonio).

Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St. Fall River, MA. Please observe COVID-19 precautions and maintain social distancing.
