James P. Custy

James P. Custy, 66, of Tiverton, formerly of Fall River, died Friday, August 10th 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Clara M. (Oliveira) Custy, to whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Patrick F. and Anna (Finucane) Custy. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Italian Progressive Club in Fall River.

Mr. Custy worked for the Fall River Public Schools as a custodian, retiring in 2001, last working at the Slade School.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a cousin, Patricia (Curry) Buckley; and several nieces and nephews.

His calling hours will be held Thursday, August 23, from 4 - 7 p.m. in the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Interment of cremains will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Community Autism Resources, 33 James Reynolds Rd., Unit 3, Swansea, MA 02777.
