Isaura Pereira

August 28, 1920 — February 14, 2015

Isaura (Cavaco) Pereira, 94, of Somerset Ridge Center, formerly of Second St., Fall River, died Saturday at the center. She was the wife of the late Fernando C. Pereira.
Born in Bristol, RI, she was a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Maria da Gloria (Miranda) Cavaco; she lived most of her life in Fall River and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. Pereira worked as a sewing machine operator for many years in the local garment industry and was a member of U.N.I.T.E.
She is survived by two sisters, Maria Medeiros and Clarinda Furtado, both of Fall River; a brother, David Cavaco of Fall River; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sister Isabel Cavaco, F.M.M. and Arthur Cavaco.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Somerset Ridge Center for extrordinary care given to Isaura during her stay.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hour Thursday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, 399 Fruit Hill Ave., N. Providence, RI 02911.
