Isabel Moniz

Isabel (Terceira) Moniz, of Fall River, died Monday at the Fall River Jewish Home. She was the wife of the late John T. Moniz.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Maria (Botelho) Terceira; she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1936. Mrs. Moniz worked for several years in the local garment industry.

She is survived by a daughter, Joanne Vieira (husband Jeffrey) of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank DeFaria, Antone Terceira, John Terceira, Georgiana Galhardo and Loiza Terceira.

The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care provided to Isabel by the staff of the Fall River Jewish Home.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish. Committal prayers and interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. As requested by Isabel visitation will be prior to her Funeral Mass 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fall River Jewish Home Activity Fund, 538 Robeson St., Fall River, MA 02720 of Faxon Animal Care Adoption Center, 474 Durfee St., Fall River, MA 02720.
