Isabel Carvalho

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother. Isabel C. Carvalho, 90, of Fall River, wife of the late Rolando Carvalho, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. Anne’s Hospital, surrounded by her family.

    Born in Povoacao, Sao Miguel, Azores, Isabel was a daughter of the late Jose Carreiro and Maria Da Gloria, and was the last survivor of eight siblings.

    Prior to her retirement, she worked at the former Whaling Manufacturing Co., in Fall River. Isabel loved cooking, spending time with her family, watching her telenovelas, and, later in life, watching Benfica games with her husband.

    Left to cherish her memory are her son Walter (Dary), her daughter Anne (Donna), and, her greatest joy, her granddaughter Victoria (Ryan) and two beautiful great grandchildren, who she cherished, Natalie Isabel and Patrick.

    Her visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, starting at 8 AM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
