Irene C. (Vincent) Costa, 92, of Southpointe Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Birch St. Tiverton, passed away Saturday at the center. She was the wife of the late Manuel S. Costa and the late William R. Souza.
Born in Tiverton, a daughter of the late Manuel and Amelia (Soares) Vincent, she resided in Tiverton for most of her life.
Mrs. Costa had worked as a spinner at the former Bourne Mill and later as a machine operator at Tioga Sportswear.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Church and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, William Souza (Wife Patricia) of Tiverton, RI and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Vincent, Manuel Vincent, Antone Vincent, John Vincent, Mary Costa, Rose Crandall and Angelina Kilcup.
A special thank you to the staff at Southpointe Rehabilitation Center for the friendliness, care and professional services they gave to Irene for the months she resided there.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation morning of funeral 7:30 - 9:30
