Irene M. Camara

Irene M. (Medeiros) Camara, 90, of Tiverton, RI, passed away peacefully on Thursday. She was the wife of the late Mathias "Marty" Camara.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Manuel and Adeline (Lima) Medeiros, she resided in Tiverton for over 60 years and was a member of St. Madeleine Sophie Church.

A retired seamstress, she worked for the former K&G Manufacturing Company in Fall River for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved playing bingo.

She is survived by 3 sons, Paul M. Camara (Wife Kathleen), James M. Camara (Wife Dorothy) and Mathias Camara, III (Wife Marjory) all of Tiverton; 2 sisters, Lenora Sousa of Tiverton and Helen Rego of Fall River; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Emma Ferreira, Joseph Medeiros, Leo Medeiros and Albert Medeiros.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Madeleine Sophie Church. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
