Ilda S. (Caveiro) Oliveria

FALL RIVER… Ilda S. (Caveiro) Oliveira, 83, of Fall River passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.

She was the loving wife of Herculano Oliveira to whom she had been married for 57 years.

Born on the island of St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Bento and Maria (Amaral) Caveiro. Ilda moved to Fall River with her husband and five children in 1970.

Ilda was a communicant of Santo Christo Parish and had worked as an Inspector for the former Darwood Manufacturing Company in Fall River. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening, drawing, shopping and going for walks. Above all else, Ilda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Fatima Maria Oliveira. Along with her husband, she is survived by her children: Mario Oliveira of Fall River, Jose Oliveira of Swampscott, Philomena Remy of Fall River and Gorette Hetu of Fall River; her grandchildren: Ashley Remy, Isabella Hetu, Chanel Hetu, and Lavinia Oliveira; her nieces: Michelle DaSilva, Dorothy Pavao and Fatima Moniz along with several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, January 19, at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Parish, Columbia St. Fall River. Interment will be In Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM.
