Ilda Medeiros

Ilda (Motta) Medeiros, 96, of 100 Amity St., formerly of William St. Fall River, passed away Friday at Southpointe Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Herman F. Medeiros.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of Antone F. and Mary (Viera) Motta; she resided most of her life in Fall River.

Mrs. Medeiros had worked as a presser for the former Rhondo Knit Company for many years, retiring in 1979.

She was a member of the Santo Christo Church and a member of the John M. Arruda Senior Club and also the Melody Club.

She is survived by 4 sons, Gilbert M. Medeiros (wife Ann Marie) of Assonet, David Medeiros of Pittsfield, Daniel Medeiros of Florida, Michael Medeiros of Fall River and a daughter, Kathleen M. Johnson (husband Chris) of Cranston; a sister, Honorina Sousa of Canada; 6 grandchildren, Francis Medeiros, Jeffrey Medeiros, Jennifer Medeiros, Cana Johnson, Mercy Johnson and Meghan Frank; 5 great-grandchildren, Paige, Aryana, Ashtin, Maya and Jake; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Herman Medeiros and sister of the late Mary Frias, Alexandrina Motta, Evangelina Amaral, John Motta and Agustinho Motta.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery's. Calling hours Monday 4 -7 p.m.
