Hilda Alves

Hilda (Garcia) Alves, 87, of Tiverton, RI, died Friday at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Manuel Alves.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (dos Anjos) Garcia; she lived most of her life in Tiverton.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Alves of North Smithfield, RI; three sons, Richard Alves (wife Maria) of Tiverton, Ronald Alves (wife Marie) of Tiverton and Jeffrey Alves (wife Candy) of Little Compton; a sister, Deolinda Pavao of Portsmouth, RI; a granddaughter, Tonya Alves; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Garcia and Arsenio Garcia.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 265 Stafford Rd., Tiiverton. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
