Hilda (Amarello) Aguiar, 86, of Fall River, died Sunday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Henry C. Aguiar.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Augustine and Gertrude Amarello, she was a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Aguiar worked as a hand presser for the former Center Garment for many years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of St. Theresa Church.
Mrs. Aguiar was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, now U.N.I.T.E and also a member of the Ocean State Senior Citizens in Tiverton.
Besides her husband of 66 years she is survived by three daughters, Gertrude Aguiar of Fall River; Susan Zielke of Freetown and Judith Aguiar of Fall River; three sons, James Aguiar of Fall River; Ronald Aguiar of Northbridge and Steven Aguiar of Tiverton; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late David Aguiar and Paul Aguiar and sister of the late Dolores Amarello, Dorothy Aguiar, Beatrice Mello, Sarah Cabral and Adeline Amarello.
Relatives and friends that are invited may gather privately for her funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Fall River.
