Helen C. Perry

Helen C. (Soares) Perry, 81, of Swansea, died Monday at Country Gardens Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Joseph S. Perry.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Augustine and Maria (Carvalho) Soares; she resided in Somerset for most of her life.

Mrs. Perry was a homemaker. She had also worked as a nurse's aide for 9 years. She was a member of the Oakwood Senior Estates Center in Swansea.

Besides her husband of 61 years, she is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Mac Dougall of Florida and Patricia A. Bisaillon of Ohio; three sisters, Linda Rebello, Dorothy Phillips and Ann Michaels, all of Fall River; a brother, Leo Soares of Fall River; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Irene Lewis, Gus Soares, Gertrude Bifulco, John Soares, Manuel Soares and Abel Soares.

Private arrangements are by the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
