Gilberto C. Duarte

Gilberto C. Duarte, 63, of Fall River, died Friday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Isabel (Costa) Duarte.
Born in Varzea, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel and Amelia Correia Duarte; he lived in this country since 1978 and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mr. Duarte was a self-employed truck driver for many years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Terach and her husband Michael of Westport, MA; a son, Michael Duarte and his wife Leslie of Fall River; four sisters, Natalia, Alda and Maria do Carmo, all of St. Michael, Azores and Germana of Brazil; three brothers, Alfredo Duarte, Manuel Duarte and Jose Duarte, all of St. Michael, Azores; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-7 p.m.
