FALL RIVER… Gilbert O. Lourenco, 70, of Somerset, passed away January 10, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, in Fall River.
He was the long-time companion of Ann M. Arruda.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Manuel O. and Lilia (Gonsalves) Lourenco.
Gilbert spent over 30 years as the owner of Gil’s Automotive on Oak Grove Avenue, in Fall River, and had worked prior in construction. Mr. Lourenco was a member of Santo Christo Church and enjoyed playing softball and participating in Karate, with his friends. He was also a member of Fall River Sport’s Club and the former Academica and Tennessee Boys clubs.
Along with his companion, survivors include his brother Jesse Lourenco and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Lourenco.
Burial and graveside service, to which friends and relatives are invited, will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 10 AM, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Please meet directly at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local animal shelter of your choosing.
