Gertrude E. Borges

Gertrude E. (Moran) Borges, 76, of Tiverton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at St. Anne's Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the former wife of the late Joseph Borges.

Born in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Carson) Moran, she resided in Tiverton for the past 30 years.

She enjoyed playing board games with her family, especially Tipit which she was the captain during holiday gatherings.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah A. Wordell (Husband Theodore) of Little Compton, RI; 3 sons, Joseph S. Borges of Dartmouth, MA, Steven F. Borges and Robert J. De Soto, Jr. (Wife Kimberly) both of Tiverton, RI; 2 sisters, Mary Bolles of Charlestown, MA and Dorothy McDonough of Weymouth, MA; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several beloved nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved friend, Charles Arruda of Somerset, MA. She was the sister of the late Helen Cooper.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 17th, 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus 28 Fish Road Tiverton, RI. Arrangements are by the Oliveira Funeral Home 2064 South Main St. Fall River.
