Georgina "Jean" Silvia

Georgina "Jean" (Mendonca) Silvia, 94, of Tiverton, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late James P. Silvia.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Georgina (Costa) Mendonca; she lived most of her life in Tiverton and was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church. Mrs. Silvia worked for a local electronic component mfg. as a assembler and for the former Schneierson Mfg.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah J. Garrett (husband Cain Garrett) of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Pauline Trindade (husband Irenieu "Duke") of Fall River; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John, Edward, George and Dennis Mendonca, Mary Camara, Emily Costa, and Hilda Pereira.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton. Interment of cremains in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are omitted.
