Georgina Galer

Georgina (Tavares) Galer, 91, of Catholic Memorial Home, 2246 Highland Ave., died Friday at the home.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Francelina (Silvia) Tavares; she lived most of her life in Tiverton and Middletown. She was employed as a zipper-setter for many years at the former A&A Mfg.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Galer of Dartmouth, MA and Nancy Berube of New Bedford, MA; a sister, Alice Milotte of Tiverton, RI; a brother, Raymond Tavares of Taunton, MA; two granddaughters, Kelly Germain and Kimberly Berube; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was the beloved companion of the late Charles Gaetano and the sister of the late Mary Brilhante, Whitie Tavares and Paul Tavares.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Chapel in the Catholic Memorial Home. Visitation morning of funeral 8 -9 a.m. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
