Francis M. Forneiro

June 15, 1923 — September 29, 2014

Francis M. "Lefty" Forneiro, 91, of Fall River, a retired truck driver, died Monday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Florence (Mason) Forneiro and Elsie (Medeiros) Forneiro. He was the beloved companion of Claire (Langlais) Saraiva of Fall River.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Francis and Virginia Forneiro, he lived in Fall River for many years having also lived in Westport and Swansea. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during WW II. Mr. Forneiro was employed for almost 40 years by Duro Finishing. After retiring, he worked partime as a handy man at the Old White Church in Swansea.

Besides his beloved companion, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia F. Treloar (husband Stanley) of Swansea and Marilyn Tripp of Westport; two step-daughters, Susan Legault (husband Marc) of Johnston, RI and Madeline LePage of Fall River; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James Forneiro, Palmira Mendonca and Alice Ponte.

His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Swansea. Visitation morning of service from 8:30-10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of ones choice.
