Francis J. Aguiar

Francis J. Aguiar, 87, of Tiverton, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family.

He was the loving husband of Shirley (Souza) Aguiar.

Born in Tiverton, he was a son of the late Manuel Aguiar and Mary Silvia.

Before retiring, he was employed as a Tiverton Police Officer and prior as a welder at Tower Iron Works. He was an avid soccer player in his youth and a member of the Ponta Delgada Club.

Along with his wife, survivors include his children Brenda Bouchard (Raymond), of Fall River, and Joseph Aguiar (Claudia Mattos), of Tiverton; his brother William Aguiar (Sandra), of Fall River; his grandchildren Jennifer (Felix), Keith, and Tracy; his great grandchildren Dante and Madelyn; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, Manuel, Louis, and Anne.

His funeral will be held Thursday, February 24, at 10 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St Chapel, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, MA, followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m.
