Francelina Couto

Francelina (Marques) Couto, 89, of Cambridge St., died Friday at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Couto, Jr.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Francelina (Ferreira) Marques; she was a lifelong resident of this city.

Mrs. Couto worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years. She later worked as a lunch lady at the Letourneau School.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and shopping on QVC.

She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Juliette Jasmin of Fall River; a son, Joseph Couto, III, of Fall River; a brother, John Marques of Westport; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a niece, Carol Sarna. She was the sister of the late Mary Marques.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are private. Arrangements are by the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St.
