Fernandina De Almeida

Fernandina (Medeiros) De Almeida, 90, of Mulberry St., Fall River, died Saturday at her son's residence. She was the wife of the late Valentim T. De Almeida.

Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Henry Botelho Medeiros and Maria dos Anjos (Medeiros) De Medeiros; she lived in the Azores, later living in Lisbon before emigrating to this country 48 years ago. She was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. De Almeida worked as a housekeeper for area nursing homes.

She is survived by two sons, John A. Almeida and George M. Almeida, both of Fall River; a daughter, Maria Manuela Coutinho of Berkley, MA a step-son, Henry Botelho Almeida of Lisbon, Portugal; a sister, Beatriz Carvalho of Dartmouth, MA, a brother, Albert Medeiros of Fall River; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5 - 8 p.m.
