Etelvina S. (Eleuterio) Caetano

FALL RIVER… Etelvina Sousa (Eleuterio) Caetano, 82, of Fall River, died Friday, November 19, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.  She was the widow of the late Joao Carlos Caetano.

Born in Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Sousa Eleuterio and Maria Isabel DaPonte Martins.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Caetano was employed as a seamstress at the former Santoro Mill. She was an avid Benfica fan, and enjoyed sewing, reading the bible, watching her telenovelas, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sister Luisa Subica of Sao Miguel, Azores; sons: Carlos Manuel Caetano (wife Lucia), of Sao Miguel, Azores, Roy Caetano, (wife Grace), of Fall River, and Jon Caetano (wife Elizabeth), of Westport; her daughters: Maria Rodrigues (husband Jose), of Berkley, Natalie Medeiros (husband Anthony), of Fall River, Lisette Aceto (husband Giulio), of Swansea, and Sandra Bernado (husband Kevin), of Dighton; 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Santo Christo Parish, Columbia St. Fall River. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held prior to service, from 8 – 9:30 AM.
