Enio P. "Salgueira" DeSousa, 67, of Swansea, died Friday at Crawford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Maria Jose (Furtado) Sousa.
Born in Salga, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Pacheco DeSousa and Maria Augusta Pacheco; he lived in Swansea for the past 24 years. He was a
member of Santo Christo Church.
Before retiring, Mr. DeSousa worked as a pipe layer for several years at Zoppo Construction. He previously was employed by the former Quaker Fabric. He was a member of Fall River Sports. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching soccer.
Besides his wife of 43 years, he is survived by a daughter, Dianne D'Amaral (Husband Joey) of Fall River; a son, Jeff DeSousa of Swansea; three grandchildren, Jeffrey DeSousa, Jordan D'Amaral and Morgan D'Amaral; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 5 siblings.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5 - 9 p.m.
