Elsie G. Giasson

Elsie G. (Arruda) Giasson, 92, of Tiverton, passed away, September 18, 2024, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.

    She was the widow of the late Robert E. Giasson and Thomas C. Roderick.

    Born in Tiverton, she was a daughter of the late John Arruda and Mary S. (Medeiros) Arruda.

    Prior to retiring, Elsie worked for most of her career as a dispatcher in the trucking industry. She was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Church, in Tiverton. In her free time, Elsie enjoyed traveling, needpoint, and spending time with her family.

    Survivors include her children Donna M. Ponte, Cheryl A. DeMelo, and Kenneth T. Roderick; her granddaughter Vanessa DeMelo; several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Jeremy Ponte and sister of the late John Arruda, Arthur Arruda, Manuel Arruda, Dennis Arruda, Joseph Arruda, Irene Valentine, Mary Pedro, and Diamantina Perry.

    Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Oliveira Funeral Homes.
